The political world was amused today as a light hearted video of Democratic Presidential Candidate Beto O'Rourke appeared to show the candidate entertaining children at a birthday party as "Beto the Clown."
Complete with red nose and bow tie, Beto the Clown was a project of the aspiring politician in the early 2000's. "It was my dream" O'Rourke told the New York Times. "To make people laugh, to bring cheer and happiness to the world! That's why Beto the Clown is still my biggest Hero!"
Many saw the video as corny or foolish, others as heartwarming or endearing. The right was quick to pick up "Beto the Clown" as a smear on the perceived threat of O'Rourkes 2020 challenge to Trump.
"If Beto is the Democratic Nominee," a concerned Senator Lindsay Graham told The New York Times, "Then it's going to be a clown runoff between the two biggest clowns of the century."
The White House hit back at Senator Graham for insulting the President. An enraged Sarah Huckabee Sanders told a ruckus press core "The President of the United States is not a clown! Nor would he ever clown! He has never clowned, He will never clown! Hes a very serious man!"
Daily Q will continue to follow this circus of a story as it unfolds.
