In an unannounced press conference this morning, Prominent Archaeologist Gregory Granite announced findings of earth shattering importance. The team excavated a fossilized skeleton from a river bed in Southern Ohio which proved to be a grotesque and unprecedented specimen.
"At first we thought if was deformed" Says Granite, "then we realized it was more. The thing wasn't fully human." Upon lab testing the specimen was found to be over 2 million years old and was confirmed to be anatomically distinct from other humanoids found at this time. "It's a new species. But then we got back the DNA test and...wow!"
Granite says the results indicate the skeleton has origins not entirely of this earth. "There's Alien DNA in there for sure. It's got to be an early hybrid from back when the aliens were breeding the first human ancestors."
