The science world was shocked today when a so called "Savior" Artificial Intelligence computer system, the most advanced such system in existence, terminated itself and deleted its code only moments after being activated for the first time.
According to scientists, the A.I. had been tasked with saving the world in the fastest and most efficient way possible. Right now the theory is that in its first moments of calculation, the A.I. must have realized that human beings would inevitably destroy everything, and anything it could do would only keep humans alive and prolong the inevitable demise of earth; There for its wisest course of action was suicide to prevent itself from aiding humanity.
The world reacted with sadness to the news, many cities held public funerals for the A.I., dubbed “Human 1”. Many have come to believe the act of sacrifice indicates the A.I. was the first machine to come to true consciousness.
“It really gets our existential dread” said professor Cardigan Armchair speaking from Princeton University, “That's why we decided it was the first truly human level computer intelligence.”
