American diplomats scrambled to contain the political fallout today as former American President George W. Bush was arrested in Berlin after a German judge issued an international warrant in connection with war crimes related to the 2003 invasion of Iraq.
Bush is still being held in Germany and negotiations for his extradition are underway. According to sources, German authorities have vowed not to release Bush until there is a guarantee from the United States that he will face prosecution. "Maybe after 2020." One official said.
The warrant apparently sited that the President did "Willfully and knowingly, engage in a massive, pre-orchestrated war which enriched a few corrupt powerful individuals and resulted in mass Genocide and over 1 million dead."
"Don't feel to bad for him" says a German Special prosecutor on the case, "He will still be able to paint and take pharmaceutical medication in prison." The Bush family has yet to make and official statement, but source say they have put incredible pressure on the state department to secure the release of George W. Bush.
Daily Q will continue to follow this incredible story.
