Chimp in Suit and Tie Mistaken for Trump at Press Conference

By Lana Piranha

There was chaos at the white house today during a regular press conference when Trump staffers suddenly realized they had mistaken a Chimpanzee in a suit and tie for the President.  After a frantic search, Trump was located wedged under his desk at the oval office where he had crawled to lick up cheeto crumbs off the carpet earlier in the morning.

After Trumps return there was great outcry to bring back the Chimp whose clear articulations on policy and subtle educated manner impressed a wide range of media figures.  Some even called his speech "The moment Trump became Presidential" only to discover the accidental switch later.

The Chimp, a three year old named "Pogo", had come from his home in the DC zoo to meet children and provide a light hearted spectacle at the event.  Since the debacle, Pogo has gained international recognition, with some even calling for his nomination for the 2020 Presidential election.

With the political stakes heating up, Pogo's emergence as an important political figure is an unexpected turn of events.  Daily Q will continue to bring you the latest from the white house media circus.
